About Ginger Heyn

Ginger Torresan Heyn left teaching after 12 years and decided to go into Real Estate. Since she didn't want to jump right in without learning the business first she joined Coldwell Banker Schmidt Realtors as an Administrative Assistant.  However, being a lifelong learner made her want to advance herself to the next stage. In 2017 she decided to get her Real Estate license not only to advance herself but to also understand how to better help the agents in her office. Four years later she joined The Shawn Schmidt Group as their Operations Manager/Transaction Coordinator in 2022. 

She is originally from the suburbs of Detroit but her family moved to Benzie County in the late 1980's. She has called Northern Michigan her home for 3/4 of her life. She raised a son here and her husband is a successful general contractor.  She has an associates degree from Northwestern Michigan College in Business Management and Accounting. Later, after having her son, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education/Technology with certificates in Social Studies and English from Ferris State University; utilizing the University Center here in Traverse City.
